If you're talking about having a player tell the AI to do a thing, and then the AI go does that thing in your game world, that's not currently supported as an 'independent action' if that makes sense. You can definitely use goals and triggers (which are in an early state) to have AI react in specific ways. We are certainly interested in talking to people who want to take this further for potential grants!

Hi, I'm Head of Community for Inworld - we just launched our Character Grants program, which could pay you up to $50K to incorporate AI characters into your existing (or new) game/experience.

Go to Inworld.ai to start. Create your AI characters in plain English (no code!), them integrate them into Unreal Engine, Unity or node.js with our guides. More information about the Grant program and how to apply at https://inworld.ai/grants

More words:

There's really no catch. Yes, we'd like you to try our tech, and yes that requires an account - but you can chat with our AI characters for up to 2 hours for free. (And if you need time beyond that for development, please reach out to me via our Discord and we can talk.) Beyond that, if you receive a grant, all the work you do is yours, and you have zero obligation beyond, well, doing what you said you'd do (or at least trying!). No sneaky contracts, no hidden agenda to upload your brains into the cloud.

Our judges include John Gaeta (The Matrix), Neal Stephenson (Snow Crash) and others. So that's pretty cool. I mean, Neal literally invented the word 'metaverse' and John invented bullet-time, so they know stuff.

You don't have to be a coder. No really, you don't. If you're any kind of storyteller or creative person, you can create characters in literally the time it takes you to think them up and type in their personality. Use actual English and just... tell us what they're like. The AI does the rest. It's sort of magical really. And yes, we absolutely want to hear from people who want to make amazing AI characters but don't have a complete game/experience to put them in yet. Totally a valid project.

Oh and if you want to code, we integrate into Unity, Unreal, node.js and more (soon). We'd love to talk to you about what you want to make that integration better, too.

That's it. We have a Discord you can get ahold of us on, or feel free to email hello@inworld.ai if you have other questions.
